Family reorganization due to separation or divorce puts a great deal of stress on the adults and children. An experienced professional can guide the family through this transition and mitigate this stress. My framework as a therapist centers on fostering connections with each other and bringing more kindness to ourselves and our relationships. Whether in the context of individuals, couples or family therapy, support groups, or relationship education workshops, my work is geared to enhance communication skills and more effective collaboration and conflict resolution. I hold PA licenses in both Clinical Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapy. My work with parents and children is enhanced with specialized post-graduate training in child development, Mindfulness-Based Play Family Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Sex Therapy, EMDR and Mediation.

I am an experienced PA-licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) who loves the work I do. I am a member of AAMFT, the national professional organization for marriage and family therapists, where I have earned the status of Clinical Fellow, a credentialed category granted to only those clinicians who have met rigorous standards in education, training, and experience in marriage and family therapy. I am also the founder of Main Line Relationship Center, a resident of the Main Line, a wife, and a mother. As a systemically-trained therapist, I look at clients and their struggles within the context of their relationships. I view symptoms and problems as originating from -- and being maintained by -- problematic interactions between people, versus within people themselves. This is a profound shift away from pathologizing models. My clients find me to be open, warm, accepting, active and educational.

Are go you going through a divorce? Would you like help with coping? Are you wondering how you are going to rebuild your life?Do you feel angry and want to find a way to let the anger go? A divorce is very difficult. Your definition of yourself, social circle, and finances all change. Most importantly, your vision of the future changes. The emotions of a divorce are very contradictory and intense. In therapy, I help clients with increasing positive coping and letting go of anger and fear. The two techniques we use to accomplish this are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness techniques. Therapy can also help you manage the practical aspects of a divorce; rebuilding one’s social circle, managing practical changes, starting to date and co-parenting.

Courage to Be Curious

Unlike many of my colleagues whose personal divorce experience led them to divorce coaching, divorce and relationship coaching found me. From my vantage point as a successful consultant, I decided to pursue coach training because of my fascination with the factors that enable some people to engage with and make change easily and leave others paralyzed and fearful. In the course of my training as a coach, and already working with Main Line Family Law Center, I was introduced to some breakthrough questions that challenged me to examine my own life in a way that was more honest and authentic than ever before. I opened myself up to a deep inquiry into my life—a life that had not felt entirely right for a long time. Through this process, and 16+ years into my marriage, I discovered that I was gay. I was also able to see that I had allowed myself to become disempowered in many ways and was not living in my strength. When people ask me how I made it through the pain and challenge of making the change, I always acknowledge my support team as the most critical factor in being able to navigate this journey and emerge stronger and in a healthier place on the other side. We are not meant to travel this journey of life alone. Divorce Essentials and Companion Coaching is my response to the tremendous support and guidance I received and that I know is critical for anyone to be able to transform their life or relationship.
